The Wall Street Journal reported that Facebook collects personal data and information from third-party apps including that of individuals who do not have a Facebook account.
Among the 70 apps tested by the publication in Apple’s App store, Realtor.com, Flo Period & Ovulation Tracker, and Instant Heart Rate: HR Monitor were just a few of the apps that deliver information to Facebook without appropriate disclosures. Facebook claims that while some of the data received may have violated its business terms, it ordered accused apps to stop sending personal and sensitive information such as health and financial information.
