Despite a slowing economy due to trade concerns, China will surpass the U.S. in retail sales for the first time bringing in over $5.6 trillion, which is $100 million more than the U.S., reports eMarket.
Average spend is up in China due to an increase in the middle class population bringing with it a rise in wealth. The gap is expected to widen through 2022.
